This is our most popular trip. The route offers a great introduction into kayaking and what the River Dee in Cheshire has to offer.

The trip starts at Sandy Lane, where you’ll receive a safety briefing and paddling demonstration.  Once on the water you’ll begin your journey along the River Dee, through the beautiful tree lined meadows and past grand riverside properties.  You can start your trip by paddling upstream towards Eccleston (home of the Duke of Westminster), before turning around and heading back downstream to Chester.  Don’t worry about paddling upstream – the flow is usually so gentle that you’ll hardly notice it.  You may also want to paddle on towards the city centre and under the famous white suspension bridge.  There’s cafes and ice cream parlours to stop at, or you can even pull your kayak onto the jetty at the Red House riverside pub and restaurant, and pop ashore for refreshments.  Or, why not take a picnic?  Your journey ends back at Sandy Lane.

This is a self guided trip. (no instructor)  You may prefer to join a guided trip.
